My Sister’s Death at 58 Reaffirms My Decision to Retire at 54
My Big Seester, Cindy, with her Side Kick, Radar. I will miss her so dearly and love her forever.
December, 17, 2017.
Late evening.
I got a phone call just about an hour ago that my sister, Cindy, was rushed to a hospital from the cruise ship that she, her husband, and a friend were on.
Just minutes later I got the call that she had passed away. Cindy was 58, a Veterinarian, who had been fighting Lupus and Leprosy for years.
She was still practicing, as she said that she and her husband needed the income. She also mentioned that she did enjoy the work.
Cindy was also into horses. Had been since she could walk. Planned at an early age to have numerous horses and she did. She and her husband got into showing and they did well.
If you’ve followed Money is not Taboo, you might have read my post about my Dad being the main reason that my wife and I decided to retire in our early ’50’s.
I’m not going to run through that story, but if you’re interested you can read it HERE.
The long story made short?
Make plans to have enough to provide for Financial Independence when you want it.

Enough said.
Gonna drink a little more and remember my Big Sis.
Until next time, Peace!
